The bottom-right pictures is Thai Black Sticky Rice Custard or "Khao Neow Dum Sung Khaya" in Thai. This is a sweet rice dish with a steamed egg custard served over a bed of sweet coconut sticky rice that’s very typical of the sweet/salt contrasts in Thai cuisine.

No Meat Monday 1

For as long as I can remember, I’ve eaten meat. Perhaps there were days when I didn’t, but it was unintentional. Now that I’ve turned 31, I thought it would be interesting to see if I could go vegetarian every Monday for an entire year. Though not super challenging, it has been interesting to look at menus and see what options are available rather than simply looking at every option. Obviously throughout the day I’ll have fruit, nuts, or some type of carb snack, but I’ll just post the major meals of the day. Today wasn’t difficult, as Tirana has plenty of vegetarian options, but I did find myself wanting meat, especially at a Mexican restaurant and seeing/smelling the platter of chicken fajitas go by my table didn’t make it any easier.
