“Casinos, food, and people, all with a Portuguese twist”

I visited Macau with my brother in 2019, right after the Chinese Spring Festival, and we had a super fun time. For me, the city was really interesting due to it’s Asian and Portuguese mix, not only in the architecture but also in the food. And, of course, the casinos were fun to see and visit. Coming from China, where there are absolutely no casinos and not a lot of “glitz & glam,” the neon lights and extravagant facades of Macau’s casinos were a welcome sight, if not only for the contrast they provide the city. Due to its size and the fact that there isn’t a whole lot to do besides gamble and eat, I wouldn’t recommend more than a few days in Macau. And despite China’s adamant stance on writing Macau with an “O,” I will still use a “U” since that’s how it’s spelled on the money.

Day 4: Chilled in morning, went back to Mr. Shi’s and then took a taxi to airport to catch flight to Macau. Got in at 9pm. Went to gym, changed, then made our way to the MGM. Played slots and won 400 yuan. Placed it all on black and doubled it before headed back to hotel.

Day 5: Did some sightseeing around Macau. Hopped on a ferry to Shenzhen and flew to Sanya
