Little Istanbul - Restaurant / Job Stuff

Sometimes, I get a craving for kebabs and hummus and thankfully, there’s some great places in Chiangmai to get just that.

I know I haven’t posted in awhile, but it’s because I’m usually just working and going to the gym. People often ask what I do, so I’ll lay it out here.

China.org.cn - I work as an editor and proofreader for their social media/website posts. I also do voice recordings for some of their videos. Recently shifted from commission-based pay to a set salary. Paid in RMB to Chinese bank account.

Oxbridge - I proofread and edit content designed for students looking to study abroad. A lot of it is like audio scripts or text used in test prep. This is definitely a money job. Work is easy, and I’m not on a contract. I get paid per 1,000 words. Paid in RMB to China bank account.

KrASIA - I’m a writer and editor for all the content that’s published on the site. KrASIA is a tech media org based in Singapore focusing on VCs, entrepreneurs, startups, and the tech landscape in Southeast Asia. Salary is paid in SGD, but that gets converted as it is sent to my US bank account.

MagicFew - This is a consultancy firm for crypto projects based in HK. I do social media audits, write articles for the clients’ websites / social media, edit articles, conduct research for articles, put together monthly content plans, and help with anything else an upcoming crypto project might need. It’s basically PR stuff and content creation. Paid a monthly set amount in any ERC-20 crypto I want.

I typically work around 4-5 hours a day. Usually 12:30pm-5pm. It’s a nice schedule, allowing for me to go to the gym in the morning, have lunch, and then be free to go out for dinner. I might do 1 or 2 small things on the weekend, but a lot of my work is project-based, so it’s really up to me when I do it so long as it is finished before the deadline.

I enjoy my work, but I'm definitely busy. I’m also working on getting my 2nd novel published, going to the gym every day, keeping up with my site, and constantly trying to find time to read and do the WaPo daily crossword. It can get a bit hectic at times, especially in the mid-afternoon when everyone messages me (WeChat, Slack, Discord, WhatsApp, Telegram, Lark), but I can’t travel and Thailand is super quiet, so I figured I might as well work like crazy during COVID since there isn’t anything else to do.
