BRAZIL
Country Overview:
"A vibrant country with a love for sport, food, and a zest for life that's simply contagious."
After a year in China, I journeyed to Porto Alegre, Brazil, to experience the 2014 World Cup with my friend Carlos from EWU. It was an unforgettable adventure, attending such an iconic event in a country where football (soccer) truly is a national passion. The food was incredible, the people were warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was electric with the spirit of competition and camaraderie. Brazil's vibrant culture, delicious cuisine, and the sheer joy of the World Cup left a lasting impression on me.
FOOOOD
Went and walked to the stadium to try and scalp tickets but most people were asking for $200, which frankly was too much for Korea vs Algeria. So went to FIFA fanfest, had some beers, then bought one of the tastiest sandwiches I’ve had. In Brazil a hamburger is a piece of steak, fried egg, peas, corn, diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, ham, and cheese. As an American, the obvious choice was to add diced bacon. Bet my buddy a jump into the freezing outside swimming pool that Korea would win and at this rate, I’ve already put on my swimsuit.
Brazilian Sandwhich
Found a sandwich place today that was too good. My buddy got a sandwich and didn’t realize it also had chicken hearts in it. All in all, lunch was more satisfying than the Argentina vs Iran game
